Guilt

Rikka: So Taiki also followed you?"

Sora didn't even turn around, but I could feel that he was furious.

Rikka: No worries, I didn't listen in on your conversation, I respect peoples privacy and past. Mostly.

I smiled and stroked Shade who was sitting next to me on the couch. In a way I was angry myself, but I kept it inside. I was good at hiding my true feelings.

Rikka: I guess I should apologize, I should have seen him following you, that bastard.

Sora kept silent. I hated it when I didn't know what he was thinking or feeling. I felt guilty, for letting my feelings go through with me and making me careless, I should have known better.

Rikka: If you want I can contact home and find out some information on him?

Holding in everything.

I turned around as Sora entered the council room, before bowing low.

Takumi: Sora sama... you've returned.
Sora: I told you not to call me "sama" when we're alone.
Takumi: But..
Sora: And that is an order.
Takumi: Yes... Sora.

I tried not to smile as I looked at him when he sat on the window-still. To anyone else, he seemed cool, and unconcerned. However, I knew him far better than that. He was upset, his eyes glazed over. I pushed my glasses back up onto the bridge of my nose.

Takumi: I take it things with Asuka-san didn't go so well?
Sora: What do you think?

I knew better than to press the matter further. However, there was something I had to tell him.

Takumi: I spotted Taiki only moments ago. He seemed to have come from the same direction as you. I fear he may have overheard something.
Sora: .... WHAT?!!

He sat bolt upright, his fists clenching. He glared at the wall for a moment, and I shivered as I felt the anger and power radiating from him.

Sora: Find out everything he knows Takumi.

I smiled and bowed before exiting the room.

Takumi: That is my job, Sora-sama.

A past better left forgotten

So where did I leave off again? Oh that's right, I was falling, falling from the clocktower after making my dramatic exit. And while I was falling I saw three small ants. These ants consisted of Takumi, Sora and, well well, Asuka chan.

How interesting. Well it seems like they're talking about something, I just don't know what. Hmm but from they way her lips are moving I think she wants to have a talk with Sora?! Very interesting.

I was so interested in fact that I decided to follow Asuka after she had finished talking to Sayuri chan. But how to go unnoticed. Well for now I'll just follow. And so I followed, making small pockets of compressed air as steps as I went. A neat trick if I do say so myself.

Well as I was hopping along I noticed another peculiar sight, Rikka chan and her cat. Were they curious too? Well not like it matters. I then noticed Asuka chan enter a small thicket. And right on her heels, Sayuri chan. Well I don't blame her I'm doing the same thing too.

I followed the path and found right in front of me a large open green field and, what's this... a barrier? I see, so he can do those things can he. Well it wasn't a surprise, it's pretty obvious that he wants their conversation to be private. I opened a small rift in the barrier and slipped in undetected. Temporal Space Distortion, a neat trick my master taught me, quick, easy and undetectable no matter how powerful you are. Even Sora wouldn't be able to tell.... i hope.

Sora: Brings back memories doesn't it...
Asuka: I didn't bring you here to reminisce about the past Sora.
Sora: Haha... it's been a while since you called me by my first name, Asuka.
Asuka: Stop dreaming Sora... The past is the past
Sora: Don't you wish you could just turn back to that time
Asuka: No... I don't. You and I are different. We were born to destroy each other.
Sora: Guess we'll share this story some other time... So, what is it you want to talk about?
Asuka: I want you to stay away from Sayuri.

Obviously. Well, I've found what I wanted so i'll just be-

Sora: It's not my decision to make... It's hers

Hmm? The barrier broke...

Asuka: Wait!!!

What the- I turned around and nearly crashed into Sora, but I quickly leapt out of the way. But he looked sad... He spun around and his eye glanced at my direction as if he had seen me. But that wasn't possible...

More mysteries to unravel

I hid behind the field of sunflowers. It was tall enough to hide me, and i cast a cloaking spell. Peering through the green stalks, I gazed upon the duo standing under the sakura tree. The scene seemed somewhat.. sad.
Sora closed his eyes and I felt a barrier form around them, just narrowly enclosing behind me. I breathed a sigh of relief. A barrier would be hard to penetrate without alerting the person casting it. Then I paused.
Wait.. how was he able to form a barrier..? My ears pricked up as I heard Asuka's voice.
Asuka: I didn't bring you here to reminisce about the past Sora.
Sora: Haha... it's been a while since you called me by my first name, Asuka.
Asuka? She used to be that close to Sora? I looked at her turn away slightly, fists clenched as though remembering a past better left forgotten.
Asuka: Shh-hut up. You know why I called you here...
Sora: Far too well... it's about Ms. Outori isn't it. I'm sure she has informed you about the Council, but I gave her some time to decide.
I sighed. I knew Asuka would do something like this sooner or later.But.. why now?

Asuka: Stop dreaming Sora... The past is the past
Sora: Don't you wish you could just turn back to that time
Asuka: No... I don't. You and I are different. We were born to destroy each other.
What? What happened between them? I looked at them, staring at each other. Sora seemed somewhat sad, and Asuka, though cold seemed sad herself. She hid it well. I could feel a connection between them. It wasn't a connection of lovers, but more of close friends. I couldn't understand. How was this possible? Asuka hated all vampires with a passion... for a good reason.
They destroyed her.
The feeling of the barrier breaking caught my attention. I looked up again as I saw Sora walk away. His face was stony and tensed.
Asuka: WAIT!!!
I looked at her face, contorted with anger, passion ... and something else. Regret? Sadness?

Sora kept on walking. But before he went back into the woods, he paused and looked back as though he saw me. I ducked my head and kept it low to hide it from view. After he was gone, I looked back up. Asuka stood there, staring off into the distance. I heard her sigh as she left aswell.
I was alone in the fields of flowers, suffocating in their intoxicating scent.
Coming here hardly answered any of my questions. They turned into even more complicated questions.
What happened between Asuka and Sora?
And more importantly... did I really want to know?

Our Secret

Through the thick forest, past the silent stream and up the deserted hill... silence.... a field of green spread throughout the lands. Wild flowers filled the place; fragile yet strong as they withstood the gentle breeze. A giant Sakura Tree stood at the center, it's majestic petals in full bloom with the scent of spring that filled the air

Under that blossomed tree... she was there waiting for me.

Asuka: You're late, Minami.
Sora: My apologies... Hold on a second... I'll set up a barrier.

I had to make sure this conversation stays private. I closed my eyes and listened to the gentle breeze. It was calm... I remember this place... The place where we first met, and the place where we ended it all. We call it our Garden of Dreams.
Sealed.... The place was locked.

Sora: Brings back memories doesn't it...
Asuka: I didn't bring you here to reminisce about the past Sora.
Sora: Haha... it's been a while since you called me by my first name, Asuka.
Asuka: Shh-hut up. You know why I called you here...
Sora: Far too well... it's about Ms. Outori isn't it. I'm sure she has informed you about the Council, but I gave her some time to decide.
Asuka: I won't allow her to join your kind

My kind... those words rang like a chime in the spring breeze. It happened two years ago... we were just about to finish junior high. I used to come here when the stress was too much and just lie on the grassy plains to clear my mind. We met her by accident when she stumbled upon the area.

Another one to bring up this matter. Why can't they accept the fact that I don't have any say in this. It was decided by the higher-ups. I turned my back on her and walked away...

Sora: It's not my decision to make... It's hers

I made my point... I released the barrier and made my escape

Asuka: Wait!!!

Before she could continue... I was gone... But, I could sense someone else was there with Asuka.. A familiar scent.

My freedom

The thing about me, I can never just relax and let everything pass by me, not when there is something nagging me, and never when something pisses me off. And I was pissed off. So I tried to keep calm and try to put up with it, never expected it to last.

I was annoyed. Since when exactly did we listen to the 'higher ups'? Truthfully. It felt as if I was let out of the loop. Not a knew feeling, ever since I moved here, I was, in a way, an outsider. It wasn't that bad, anymore.

I still missed my home, and coming here changed me. For the better or the worse, I didn't know, and frankly I didn't care for anyone elses opinion. Then again no one who knows me know, knew me from before.

I headed out of the school and towards the town a short way away. It was small... I wouldn't know, I never was in a really big city. Without really wanting to I ended up heading toward a pup/restaurant/ house, call it what you want. I knew that many students went there during school times for lunches and whatnot.

I waited and watched, hiding for view from an alley. I was naturally curious, and so was Shade. So much for curiosity killed the cat. I didn't have to wait long when I spotted Asuka riding her bike to the cafe. She parked it outside, before turning to a small, overgrown path to the right that lead into the woods, disappearing into the thick midst. I knew that path. After the thicket of the woods, it opened up to grassy plains.

It made me curious, and the feeling of annoyance joined it when Sora appeared soon after, walking swiftly down the same path. What the hell was he doing here? OK, so I already had an idea what the conversation would be about. The real question would be, why would they have this conversation, when I could almost feel the deep felt hatred between them.

Something made me leave, a darker feeling replaced any curiosity. And as I headed out of the town, I saw Sayuri also go into the thicket, almost as silent as a ghost. Not bad.
Seems like I'm not the only one curious. I almost felt sorry for her. But that feeling disappeared quickly.

I took the long route back to school, lost in thought. And I ended up thinking about home, I could see that Shade missed it too. Something was calling me back home, and I knew I had to return home soon.

But not yet.

Decisions.

I quickly walked down the rest of the flight of stairs and back into the dazzling sunlight. I put up a hand to temporarily shield the light from my eyes. Man that burned.
After blinking the light from my eyes, i studied the courtyard and  saw Asuka, glaring into the distance, as though she had seen just encountered something distasteful, waiting beside her bike.
When she turned around and saw me though, she gave me a look of relief. I wondered why as I walked over to her swiftly.

Sayuri: Asuka, sorry to keep you waiting.
Asuka: That's alright. What did they want?
Sayuri: Th-they.... wanted me to join student council...
Asuka: WHAT? What did you say?!
Sayuri: I said no.. but they said they'll give me some time to think about it...

I felt Asuka stiffen as I looked down and fingered my necklace. I didn't want to tell her that they only wanted me because of my "special talents." I also decided not to tell her about the weird feeling in the council room and the different reactions from each member.
She would flip.

Asuka: *mutter* That bastard....
Sayuri: Asuka, did you say something?
Asuka: oh... nothing.. nothing... Hey, can you make your way to class without me for now? I've got something to attend to.
Sayuri: Oh, what is it?
Asuka: Need to clean up some mess. See you later okay?

She climbed on her bike without another word, her head hanging down, long bangs sweeping into her eyes. to anyone else, she seemed calm and indifferent but I knew her better than that.
I could feel her anger radiating from her. Why was she so upset? I mean, I admit that I wasn't too keen on the idea but I still had a whole week to think about it. I watched as she rode away down a different path to the back.
Looking down at my class timetable, I shoved it into my pocket.
Physics can wait, I'm going to follow her.

Confrontation... Sora & Asuka

Sora: Seiryu... What a coincidence
Asuka: Minami...

I saw her right in front of me... Seiryu Asuka... the person I consider my greatest rival and Head of the Prefect Board, The White Lily Council , that rivals the Black Rose Society. Takumi saw the look in our eyes and quickly jumped in front of me as if he was trying to hold me back.

Takumi: Don't do anything rash
Sora: I know...

He averted his gaze from mine and set his eyes upon Seiryu's...

Takumi: Seiryu-sama, what is it that you want from us?
Asuka: I don't want anything from the Council, I just want to talk to Minami
Takumi: I don't think Sora-sama has the time right now
Sora: Takumi... Stand down
Takumi: But...

I took a step and brushed Takumi to the side and walked towards Seiryu... I know what she wanted to talk about, it's written all over her face. This is somewhat an interesting turn of events.

Sora: Let's talk then
Asuka: Alone... meet me at "the place" in 10 minutes. I'm sure it won't be a problem for someone of your caliber
Sora: See you in 10...

"The Place" ... this will be interesting. I smirked as I saw her stormed off onto her bike. Guess she'll need that if she wants to make it there on time. I turned around and saw a worried look on my partner's face

Sora: Don't worry...
Takumi: That's when I worry the most
Sora: I'll see you later

I walked towards the exit, the same exit where Seiryu left. The cost was clear... 10 minutes? I'll make it in 5...

As I made my way there, passing everyone, thoughts and memories came into my mind. I know what she wanted, she wanted Sayuri. It's not like I can do anything about it.

Why must it be "The Place".

Shade

After the council meeting I went to my room, which like all the council members was on the top floor of the dorm. My room was, well, dark. The walls were painted to show a forest in darkness and the ceiling had small lights speckled across it to look like stars.

It was very personalized, and I had spent a lot of time and money in getting it just right. But it was worth it, this way I had a place where I could feel close to home. Because in this academy everything was so different, and even though I had gotten used to it, there were still times when I missed home.

I sat down on my bed and stared out of the window, lost in thought. Something pounced onto the bed next to me. My cat Shade. He was my best friend in the academy, with his night black fur and golden eyes.

I stroked his soft fur as he lay down next to me, his purring was a comforting sound.

Rikka: What are they up to?

Shade looked at me knowingly. I sighed and curled up in bed next to him. The setting sun shining through the window and dipping my room in a warm glow.

Reflection

After Taiki left in his usual dramatic way, I walk over to Sayuri and gently tap her shoulder.

Sayuri: Huh? Oh... Nawasaki-san..
Emi: So what do you think of the council?.
Sayuri: Mmm.. it's really nice i guess.
Emi: So would you think about joining?
Sayuri: I... don't know. I need to think things over...
Emi: *nods* I understand. It can be a tough decision. Think it over carefully. If you have any questions you can come ask me alright?
Sayuri: *smiles* Thank you Emi.

I opened the door for her and she walked out, smiling at me before the door shut close.
Silence. Everything oh so quiet.
Everyone has now gone out of the Council Room, leaving me alone.
I quickly gather all the documents and place them in my bag and make my way out the entrance.
My rose vines gather together as I create stairs guiding me down from the impossibly tall clock tower, though some of the vines start to break.

*Sigh*

I must tend to my lovely flowers once again.

The breeze softly hits my face as I continue to walk to the garden and once there I let my self fall on to the bed of roses and collapse.
Ever since I could remember I had always loved the smell of flowers, especially roses. I treat them as I would my friend, with genteelness and love.
I could relate to them better than the other members. Sure I do value Rikka and her friendship over the years, as a sister though sometimes she can seem to hard headed. Sora has always looked after us and he took me in when I did not know where to go.
And there is Taiki.
Sometimes I worry about him, just as I also worry about everyone else in the council. He just gets in TOO much trouble.

I sit up and glance at the evening sky. Sayuri... I hope she reconsiders to join us. I really wanted something new in the council and she gave me a good feeling.

One things for sure, this year is going to be full of surprises.

Enter Taiki:Hidden emotions

*sigh* really, I just don't understand why those student council idiots hate me so much. Doesn't matter though I hate them too, especially that Sora, MAN DOES HE TICK ME OFF! Takumi's not too bad, he'd be a good guy if he wasn't so loyal to that Sora. Rikka just plain hates me, dunno why. Well at least there's Emi, she seems like a nice enough girl.

Well aside from that Sora invited a human girl over to the council room, (what's her name again?... Sayuri, that's right!) and offered her a place in the Black Rose. Rikka was all outraged and angry and what not, I'm thinking she's just jealous though. Well I was all for it, same with Emi but despite it all she declined the offer. Wow. She's got some guts.
Well she's got a week to reconsider so this'll be interesting. She's cute, but I think I like her friend Asuka better though *smirk*. Much more fun to play around with. Well we'll see how it goes. No harm trying both..
Sayuri was still there, silently waiting by the coffee machine, deep in thought.
I wanted to sneak up behind her and hug her but Emi shot me a warning glare already.
Sigh. Maybe next time then.
Well it's just me and Emi in the council room right now clearing away the stuff, might as well look for other girls. Or work on my abilities, which ever come's first of course.

Taiki: Hey Emi-Chan I'll be going out first, you think you can handle everything?
Emi: Sure I can handle it, I guess. Where are you going by the way?
Taiki: You know...
Emi: ~Right~ well ok, don't get into any trouble, k?
Taiki: Yeah yeah, you worry too much. See you later Sayuri...

She didn't hear me. Oh well.
I opened the window and looked around. Sayuri was not looking, Emi gave me that look, but whatever, I jumped out the window down to the ground.

Choices...

Tension filled the air of the council room. The members had their eyes fixed on Sayuri. I can sense the anger in Rikka's eyes, the lust in Taiki , the disappointment in Emi. As for Takumi and myself... we were unfazed by the whole event...

I looked around the room... I stared at Takumi and nodded my head slightly... he understood my message and stood up

Takumi: Sayuri-san.... I am afraid you don't have a choice. The higher ups want you in and we have to follow their orders
Sayuri: .... I don't think so....
Rikka: I say let her be... it's the smartest thing she said so far...
Emi: But it would be more fun if you did join us Sayu-chan
Rikka: No it would not... she would just ruin everything
Taiki: Calm down Rikka-chan...
Rikka: YOU SHUT UP...

The tension was building... Chaos filled the room... Now it was Takumi looking at me... *sigh*

Sora: Enough.... This has gone far enough.
Rikka: but...

Sora: I said enough. Rikka... we'll talk about this later

I divert my gaze towards her... she was slightly trembling... her hands clutched closely together... I walked towards her...

Sora: You don't have to decide now... but I do want an answer from you... I'll give you a week. Think about it... Black Rose has many benefits, it might even help you with whatever you are looking for. Think about it....
Sayuri: ... but I -
Rikka: Sora...
Sora: Let's go Takumi... Emi, show our guest out. Meeting adjourned.
We walked out the door, down the hall, and took the elevator down... when the door opened. I looked in front of me....

Sora: Seiryu... what a coincidence...
Asuka: Minami...

Ash black rose, will you lead me?

I looked at Asuka, who was rigid and I wondered why she was so nervous. It couldn't be that bad right?
I mean, the council was what ran the school and the school was the most famous one in the whole of Japan.

I jumped as I heard a voice echo from the darkness.

Takumi: Are you Sayuri Outori from class 1-B?
Sayuri: Ah... yeah that's me..
Takumi: Come this way.. the council is waiting for you..
Sayuri: Well... bye then Asuka...
Asuka: ...

I turned around and followed Takumi into the darkness of the student council room. I blinked hard once and then was greeted by the members sitting in sofas around a table. I recognized Rikka(who shot me a glare) and Emi (who waved from the coffee machine). I saw a guy to my right, who winked at me. I shivered. Something about him was... odd. Takumi sat down and looked at me with a serious expression on his face. He moved stealthily, like a shadow. Then I turned to the last person and my heart skipped a beat.

He was handsome, so devastatingly handsome with his dark eyes, mess of black hair and the eyes held such ferocity, such power within them that you couldn't help but be drawn closer and closer.

Rikka: Hah, what a stupid girl. She's just like the others, openly staring at Sora-sama
Takumi: You were like that once Rikka...
Rikka: S-sh-SHUT UP TAKUMI!
Takumi: You started it.
Sora: If you two are done bickering, we should start. Sayuri-san, do you know why you are here?
Sayuri: No...
Emi: You're one of us now! Part of the student council!
Sayuri: ...

What? Part of the student council? But I haven't even been here for 24 hours yet and I'm part of the student council? Why?

Takumi: Your role will be the guardian of Sora-sama. You will serve his needs, and protect him from any dangers as well as do any job he tells you to.
Rikka: WHAT?! How could y-
Takumi: You will also be in all his classes but you can still stay at your dorm if you choose to.
Emi: Isn't it exciting?
Taiki: Hmm.. this will be fun *smiles*
Sora: ...
Sayuri: WAIT!!!
Takumi: ... yes Sayuri?
Sayuri: w..why me? I only just arrived and I don't know anything about the student council..
Takumi: We are only following orders. The higher ups have chosen you for special reasons... i'm sure you are aware of them.

I was shocked. They knew about my past? And my abilities? So they were using me as a tool? I glanced at Sora who was staring at me, though his eyes were emotionless and cold. I had to be by his side? How could I, when I didn't even know him! Rikka was giving me a death glare. I didn't want to be somewhere where I was hated either. I took a deep breath.

Sayuri: I'm sorry but i'm going to have to decline....

Delivering to hell

Cheh. I knew this would happen the moment she stepped through the gates of this cursed academy. Those bloody council members, what are they up to this time?
I'm in no mood for games. If they dare do anything to Sayuri, im going to kill them.

But for now, I had no choice but to acompany my best friend to the gate of hell.

Asuka: Be careful
Sayuri: Why?
Asuka: You'll find out soon enough

We had arrived at the clock tower, I stopped a short way away, watching the door nervously.

Gathering of the Gods

The weather was cold, the Sakura blossoms are still falling... a sign of spring. The members gathered at the top of the clock tower one by one. Rikka was already there and she was still busying questioning me.... *sigh*

Takumi: Rikka... if you are done with your questions, I think it's time we begin our 1st meeting of the semester
Rikka: We'll talk later Sora
Takumi: *ahem* Let us begin
Sora: Takumi...If you please...

Royal Academy's school year is divided into 3 semesters and for every start of the semester, we have a general meeting where the members are given their new jobs of the semester. Takumi usually handles the planning and I trust his judgment enough, and I hope he gives a job easy enough for Yamada to handle. He better not screw up.

For this semester, Takumi will be incharged of the school festival with Yamada as his drag around slave. Emi and Rikka will as always organize the Prom. My job is always the same... Take care of the students, help with the activities, lead the team... the usual. Things never change. I sat on my chair listening to everyone presenting their statements. The meeting was about to draw to it's close, it's my turn....

Sora: Alright... I guess that's about everything. As always... i expect results. Now... we have something important to address... We're going to have a new member join us...
Rikka: I knew this would happen... why are you doing this Sora?
Sora: It's not for me to decide Rikka... the higher ups already decided her fate...
Rikka: .... you now what we are... this is unacceptable
Emi: I think it will be fun to have a new member
Sora: She will be here soon.... Takumi... is everything ready
Takumi: Yes Sora-sama...

Everything was in place... the decision has been made. As much as I hate this... I can't do anything. It seems the higher ups know something I don't. I'll play along for now... It's almost time...

Rikka POV: So many questions.

I couldn't believe it.
What was Sora thinking, inviting a human to a council meeting, even worse, a girl like her?

When I saw the invite I went straight to the council room, taking Emi with me, it wasn't right for her to hang out with them.

Sora was there, lazily sitting in his chair, flipping a pen through his fingers.

Rikka: What the hell are you doing?
Sora: Nothing you need to know.
Rikka: Stop being so annoying! You know exactly what I mean! What are you up to.
Sora: You know me well enough to trust me.
Rikka: That's exactly what I'm worried about.

I kept staring at him but he just went back into writing in the damn council log. I knew I wouldn't be able to get him to tell me more. He would tell us, when he wanted to. I just sat down on the couch, and glanced out of the window while the rest of the members just lounged around doing their own thing. Emi had gone to get us all drinks. Takumi had called us here for a meeting before 4pm.

When I saw Sayuri and Asuka walking through the garden, it didn't help cheer me up at all.

Day ticking away.

After unpacking all my stuff, Asuka explained everything.
She told me about the student council, and about every single member of the council. I was stunned after the long talk and had to take a shower and ponder upon everything.

Soon after, I got changed. Pulling on my usual black tank top and red plaid skirt, I was fastening my boots when I remembered the gun Asuka had given me. She'd gone off earlier than me and had gone out to get my schedule for me. I took the gun and studied it closely.
It was a vampire hunter gun where it changes light energy into a compressed form of light that it shot out. Similar to a bullet. Only the top hunters carried these weapons. They were expensive to make and hard to use.
Thank god I trained using these before...

I looked at my new companion that I knew would keep me safe. I thought about it and I wanted to give it a name.

Sayuri: I dub thee...Kaen Tenshi, Angel's Flame.
Kaen seemed to shine for a split second as though acknowledging it's new name. I shoved it into my bag and I looked out of the window. Asuka said that she'd meet me behind the sports centre. Where on earth was that? I left the dormitory and went out. I wandered around for a bit and ended up in the garden.

I saw a single girl tending to some beautiful roses all by herself.

Sayuri: Excuse me, where is the sports centre?
Emi: It's just around the corner up the stairs.
Sayuri: Ah! Thank you!

I followed her direction but couldn't help glancing back. This girl's aura... forget it. I looked around and was lost again and it actually took me half an hour to finally find Asuka. However, she was sitting with the girl I had previously asked directions from.

Sayuri: Asuka! Sorry, couldn't find the w.. Oh hello again!
Emi: *smiles* Hello. You must be the new girl. My name is Emi. We met just now.
Asuka: Hmph...

I recalled what Asuka said before as I sat down in between them. So this was Emi. The treasurer of the student council. She didn't seem to be that bad...

Asuka: And where there is smoke, there is fire.
Sayuri: What do you mean?
Asuka: Heh. Look who finally joined us.

I looked up to see a beautiful, startlingly beautiful girl stand in front of us. She seemed foreign with her long blonde hair and electrifying blue eyes. Dressed all in black, she sent chills down my spine with her cold demeanor and aura. What sent shivers through my body was the intense glare she fixed upon me and Asuka. However, Asuka seemed unfazed as though this was a normal thing.

It was filled with such hatred.
"This must be Rikka" I thought. The chilling, yet beautiful secretary of the student council. Looks like Asuka wasn't joking when she said she was 'icy.' I wouldn't look forward to it if I had to ever fight her. Rikka sneered at me, her lips curled up.

Rikka: So you're the new girl then?
Sayuri: ...yes..?
Rikka: Hah. I don't see why Sora-sama is so worried about you.
Sayuri: Excuse me?
Emi: Rikka! Don't be so rude!
Rikka: Why?
Asuka: Why? Just leave everyone alone, will you? No one can stand you.
Rikka: Well we're going. Let's go Emi.

I was stunned. Is this how the student council members were like? Why couldn't everybody just get along...

While Emi and Rikka argued, Asuka just snorted in sarcastic amusement and passed me 2 pieces of paper. One was my timetable and the other was a letter, written in black ink.

Sayuri: An invitation to the 'Black Rose Society'? What's that?
Asuka: What are you up to now, you leeches?

Rikka and Emi just stared at the letter in my hand in shock as though they recognized it. In an instant, Rikka grabbed Emi and stalked off, visibly angry. Emi smiled at me apologetically before she was yanked around the corner and out of sight.
All I could say really was... huh?

A New Dawn

I closed the book where I wrote the entry of my log. I cast a spell on the book and placed a curse on it. A seal that only Takumi and I knew.

Sora: There.... It's locked. Takumi. Put this away will you
Takumi: Yes, Sora-sama
Sora: Takumi, I told you not to add the -sama when we are outside Council Gatherings.
Takumi: ....

Located in the heart of
Royal Academy,The school's clock tower overlooks the entire campus. Inside the tower, the whole layout, that is where the Black Rose Council Room was located. I looked out towards the grounds from the top of the tower, from my office.

It was just like any other morning. The students were rushing into the school grounds, meeting up with their friends. Emi was by the flower garden tending to her roses, while Rikka was with her under the Sakura tree with a good book. I sneered once I saw Yamada trying to get his paws on another girl.... Everything was the same, peaceful and boring...

I turned my direction towards the school gate. Seiryu.... with the new student

Sora: Takumi... Gather the members
Takumi: Hai... Sora-sama

Just like the shadow, he was gone. Looks like I was right...
It's going to be one hell of a year.

Diary Entry by Sayuri

Well... while Asuka is asleep I'll try and write something. Today was a strange.. STRANGE day to sum it all up really...
Asuka was waiting for me at the entrance gate. After alot of hugging and crying (i'm not allowed to post those photos or Asuka will murder me in my sleep)
So while going into the academy, Asuka stopped me for a while and handed me a shotgun and told me to hide it somehow.
"You'll need it" She said.

I was so confused. Why would I need a vampire hunter weapon.. INSIDE of an Academy?
"What is this for?" I asked.
"This is for you." She replied calmly.
"What are you talking about?" I was so confused and worried. Asuka's normally sarcastic tone was serious.
"You'll see when you meet them.."
She was so confusing. Meet who? I was about to ask.
However, Asuka motioned me to be quiet and glanced pointedly at the students walking around us, happily chatting so I kept my question in my head as we silently walked to our dorm room. What on earth is she talking about?

Whatever this was, it was a secret. And I wasn't sure if I wanted to know about it.
Tell you more after unpacking.

Council Entry #1 : Minami Sora

I really don't want to write this, but Takumi said it would be good for me to record the happenings of the Council. He said it will be a way to calm me down if I ever feel like killing someone.

The Black Rose Society has been in this academy ever since the academy first started. We at Black Rose are a group that keeps the rules of the academy. Power and Grace is what drives us and a sense of justice is what we swore to uphold.

The members are selected by the higher ups of the academy due to their grades, abilities and "unique-ness" to the school.

Yamada Taiki is the newest member to join the Council. Although I voiced my opinions to the higher up, I have no choice by to accept him into our ring... but I won't trust him. He claims to be an excellent swordsman as well as a gentleman. I would love to see him go against Takumi in a fair fight. That would be a quick 5 minutes.

Nawasaka Emi... the youngest female member of the council. The gem of the Council fitting to hold the finances that come in to us. She annoys me with her cheerful-ness, but she does take good care of me. I trust her with my life, but Emi, you still annoy me.

Hidden within all that beauty, one cannot help but shiver within the presence our Secretary, Konmari Rikka. Her deathly aura send shivers down my spine, as it once warmed my heart. The cold heart is what draws me to her "colorful" personality. I know her since childhood, and I can tell that she does not trust Yamada as well. I guess Emi has to calm more than one person now, the task used to be mine in the past but that was an old fling.

This person is next. A person I would give my life to as he has once given his to mine, but that is the past and I do not wish to disclose that matter here. He is the only one in the Council that I will truly trust with every fiber of my being. He is my right hand, my shadow and my best friend... Kendo Takumi.

That's it for the introductions. The school term has just begun. I have a feeling that this year will be one hell of a year. I'll have to ask Takumi to structure a new order for the term.

Oh... before I forget. I am the President of the Black Rose... Yours truly...

Diary Entry by Sayuri

Dear Diary,

Today is my first day of entering the new academy. I've been kept back at the Vampire Hunters Association safe house until today. They've finally deemed me fit to go out into the world. I really don't see the problem. I've been training for the past 5 years. I can almost swear that I'm better than Asuka herself... but I guess the association had their reasons?

In any case, I'm glad to see Asuka again. It's been a while since we saw each other. Let's just say that we've both been busy and haven't kept in touch often >.<

Asuka Seiryu is my best friend. We've been together since I last remember and I don't remember much. Apparently she was the first person to find me. She says I was lying in a pool of blood yet I didn't have a scratch mark on me. That might be because of my "special" skills. Sigh.

Ah i've arrived here. Will write more tonight.

One cold night.

Ouritsu "Royale" Academy is a prestigious and famous academy for students in Japan. They are run by the student council, who are rumored to be made up of the most perfect, powerful, untouchable students.
They run the school, they own the school and they hold incredible power over the students. The students look up to them, the teacher respects them and the rest of the world can only look in wistfully from a distance beyond the iron-wrought gates of the academy.
The students live a happy life, oblivious to the dark matters happening around them.

But all that is about to change...

There is something coming that will stir up the darkness...
